  • Used as a food additive in dairy products, meat processing and canning of seafood.

Usage Chemistry

In boilers, SHMP converts Calcium ions in water to a form of Calcium Phosphate known as hydroxyapatite, Ca5(OH)(PO4)3. Hydroxyapatite forms a loose, fluffy precipitate that can be dispersed in the water with the aid of a polymer, and removed with blowdown. This effectively prevents mineral scale deposits from forming in the boiler. Phosphate is added to the boiler to precipitate calcium hardness entering from the feedwater.

 Advantages

  • Remains stable under normal conditions.
  • Easily soluble.
  • Excellent whitening agent.
  • White crystalline powder.
  • Long shelf life.
